Old Dogs

You’re not fooling anyone flirty with the waitress John Travolta. I watched this when it originally came out and I’ve apparently repressed all of it, seeing a pretty naked Robin Williams mushed against glass in a tanning panic will do that. We have another Tammy and the T-Rex situation here with an R-rated cut existing somewhere. The G rated version is perverse enough.

I had no idea what this was about but I thought, "John Travolta and Robin Williams? It can't be that bad." But it was. It was awful. It was so fucking bad I walked out. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.

A pretty bad movie. Had some laughs, but too, well, for lack of a better term, retarded.

SUCH A DAD FILM. But I giggled a few times, for the slapstick humor. But the actual plot was retarded.

The greatest horror of Christmas with the family is being forced to watch garbage like this. Robin Williams might be a somewhat solid actor in serious roles, but he is just not funny. The plot is stupid and the gags are downright painful to sit through.

I appreciate that actors span their usual repertoire, but let's be honest, John Travolta's quite horrible comedy actor. And above all the script was terrible as well. The pacing sucked and jokes were on a level of young kids. But brothers and sisters, there was the whole family of Travolta's in there.

While this movie is about reuniting a family, it's not a family movie. I did find a couple of laughs but wouldn't call it funny. For the talent involved, it's not very good, and some of its humor is offensive.

Don't get too attached to the titular 'old dog'.

Some very Conservative guys try to make a farrelly style comedy. Turns out racist, sexist, homophobic and not at all funny. Fuck everyone involved in this.

While this movie is pretty awful, you sort of can't look away.

I should like this movie. I think. But it is bad.

Two cool dudes make a really bad film. Also, Seth Green plays his worst ever role.

Williams makes this bearable, and even funny in some parts.

Not as bad as I was expecting, but considering my expectations were pretty low, that's still not saying a whole lot.

Great movie for tasteless idiots

I laughed a few times at Dax Shepard, but I don't know if it was because he was funny or because the everyone else in the movie put forth so little effort to make any kind of actual humor that he was just a breath of fresh air. I guess Matt Dillon and Justin Long tried a little bit too. It's sad when people with little bit parts try harder to make a movie good than the studio, stars, writers and director.

Relatively weak film, this film is not a knee-slapper as we would expect from Robin Williams, and at the same time it is not good drama. It it just weak on all accounts.

More like: "Old men trying to do something about their acting carreers!"

I'll agree with others that this was not a good movie, but I did get some very good laughs from this film.

Honestly, if no the worst movie I ever saw, it is at least the worst movie I can think of right now.

I translated this movie into Czech for the DVD distribution and wasn't bored to death and that counts I think:)

ok it's riddled with clichés and incosistensies but it made me laugh bellyaching laughs

another silly movie about two guys who can hardly cope with kids. not very funny and absolutely predictable. although, oompa-loompa joke really made me laugh.

I watched this movie over the Thanksgiving weekend with my family and it was good enough to kill time. I will be the first to admit that I did laugh a couple of times but this was by no means a movie that means to try any harder than a cheap laugh. A brief glimpse shows that it is stacked with star power but nothing is done really to utilize it since the movie has a bare bones plot. In the end it did its job but I really can't recommend it to a serious film viewer
