Okami yo rakujitsu o kire

The dramatic story of Sugi Toranosuke and a group of his friends during the tumultuous years immediately before and after the fall of the Tokugawa Shogunate. This was the final film by Kenji Misumi, better known for his colorful and violent Zatoichi and Lone Wolf & Cub movies, and presents a stinging indictment of the cruelty and hypocrisy of the Bushido code. There's plenty of brutal action, but the focus is more on the effects of violence on those who are left standing in its wake.
