Ojô Okichi

The acting especially during the action scenes was very Kabuki in style. An entertaining movie that didn't get too deep and succeeded in part due to its short runtime.

A Kenji Mizoguchi film about a woman with a questionable reputation that falls for a honest guy. It's a simple story that was onto something without coming full effect. Probable why it's one of Mizoguchi's more forgotten creations. But it's got Isuzu Yamada featured prominently, so it's not all lost.
