Not as satisfying as Ocean's Eleven, felt like it was slapped together rather haphazardly and wastes whatever charm its actors command. The movie fumbles all over itself trying to work in one "twist" after another, and stretches believability beyond the breaking point. The characters are impossibly cool and impossibly intuitive and always six steps ahead of each other. Needed more heist, less twist.

The great style from the first film is still present here in the artsy titles, delicious dialogue, and rambunctious soundtrack, but the substance is different: There's more comedy and humbling mishaps (the Julia Roberts scene is great), but there are also more characters (an overload), and a disappointing lack of actual heists considering the wealth of other plot material that's jammed in. It's a bit of a messy story, with a weak climax to boot, but the film still doesn't fail to entertain.

This is barely a heist movie...it's like a movie vaguely about heists. No appreciation for the genre whatsoever. And it's not like these movies are supposed to have standout character stories so if you don't have an elaborate robbery, what else do you have left, really?

Not a terrible movie altogether, yet its a huge step down from its predecessor. Trading tense crime for straight comedy, this movie feels a little less charming, but some of the comedy actually hits oddly enough. And the all-star cast is still really good, despite feeling a little crowded. Not horrible. Nowhere near Oceans 11.

The first hour I was genuinely enjoying myself. It's casual, cool, lighthearted, kinda fun. But yeah, it's hard not to get annoyed at the essentially useless second half and the terrible twists. Everything with Julia Roberts was awful. Zeta-Jones does magical things to my pants.

While I think I like the heist of the first one better (as far as the "how'd they do that!?") I like the dynamics of the friendships best in this one! So funny the friendship between Clooney and Pitt, and the larger role of Damon is hilarious!! The ending is great and surprising, and the European theme is delightful! Great, great fun!!

Well it's got a great soundtrack and some humourous moments but the heist dragged out a bit and eventually you find out that the heist that dragged out was really undone by an even bigger heist (making the entire dragged out heist feel like a waste of time). With that said it's still a fun and entertaining film for the most part, just the original was better.

Fun as it pertains to the cast interacting, as everyone involved in this movie is charismatic and gets a few good one-liners. But, other than that, it's cluttered and nearly a copycat of the first film without significantly raising the stakes. The Ocean's movies all follow the same basic format, which is - plan heist, execute heist, celebrate - but this one just lacks the energy of the first film.

After Soderbergh creates the perfect heist film, he follows it up with a heist film that lacks the planning of the heist or really the actual heist. Understandably, audiences were annoyed. Now, knowing the rapscallion as we do, of course Soderbergh did this. This has "the gag" and it looks great. it isn't my favorite but it is great seeing this group of actors just hang out.

It has a much messier plot and structure than the previous film, but I think it's considerably funnier, and I love the meta elements. Topher Grace seemingly playing himself, Julia Roberts playing a character who has to pretend to be Julia Roberts in front of the real Bruce Willis, and Don Cheadle giving her advice on how to fake her accent; brilliantly self-aware.

This film is essentially the exact opposite of Ocean's Eleven. Not only the plot of returning the money they stole the first time around, but the entire formula the film follows is a polar opposite. It's not a heist movie; the characters no longer have independent roles and are now interchangeable, the comedy isn't cool and subtle but in your face and slapstick...in short, it just wants to be a movie about the cast members having a good time together, which is fine, but that's not a movie. Sorry

From the opening shot something about this movie felt wrong. If it wasn't the checked-out cast, the laziness of its film-making, or the plot which goes from rehashed to contrived at the drop of a dime, Ocean's Twelve smells of been-there-done-that and reeks of it's own self-importance.

Another morally bankrupt movie from Hollywood. The plot is idiotic and unbelievable. It's clever only inasmuch as the audience is left in a state of ignorance about 50% of what characters actually do. It would be just like making a prison escape movie and saying at the end "Gotcha! I could walk through walls the whole time!" And oh, the misogyny. As in the first, the woman has to be conquered. And you can lie to her all you want, if you succeed in you con-job, she'll fall in your arms, right?

Ocean's Twelve is a farce. The entire film serves to poke fun at the nature of the heist movie and how ridiculous the concept is. Soderbergh's deviation from the straightforward con of the first movie is both bold and laudable. I found myself laughing the entire time (and catching little references here and there). Unfortunately, the ending is pretty damn unsatisfying, and that is difficult to get over.

The gang is back in this sequel to the remake of Ocean's Eleven. While I thoughroughly enjoyed Ocean's Eleven this movie seems to be more of a cash in than a fun continuation of the heist formula that was fun in the first movie. The cast is just as good as the first time around. Don Cheadle's accent is still terrible. After successfully robbing five casinos in one night, Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his crew of thieves have big problems. Despite pulling off one of the biggest heists in Las Vegas history, the members of the gang have already spent much of the money they stole. Casino owner Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) demands that Ocean return the money, plus millions more in interest. Unable to come up the cash, the crew is forced to come together to pull off another series of heists, this time in Europe.

Though with good humor and a nice, jazzy edit, I think the film is too tied up with an overly complex plot which makes many of the big gags feel forced, or wasted. The pacing is all over the place too, makes the film take ages to get going then ties up rather abruptly. That being said it's fairly entertaining for a gouchy evening.

Ocean's 12 was inevitable. 11 was a lot of fun and this sequel only had to do more of the same to be successful. But this sequel is lazily and shoddily put together. From the production to the performances, it just feels like everyone is on autopilot and pissing around. Bar some impressive cinematography and a cool soundtrack, the wrest of the time I just shook my head at how seedy and ludicrous this film is. In particular the woefully cheap and ushered in cameos. Wasted and spoilt potential.

Ocean's Twelve is still a fun watch, but it's missing the special something that made Ocean's Eleven great. The characters seemed to be on vacation, having fun but not doing anything of value, while the group dynamic fell apart by placing many of them in jail for most of the time spent abroad. And yet, because there's some cleverness to the jumpy plot, and because the actors seemed to have fun, it's hard to dislike it. Don't go in expecting another Ocean's Eleven, as it's not as good as that.
