Some very nice imagery for sure, but it's all pretty random and the narration adds almost nothing. "Here's some crabs crawling over each other, now check out some of the garbage we dump into the ocean and hey look at some penguins". The end credits are an insult.

Some amazing images, but this film is not bringing much new to the table.

Documentary about ocean creatures around the world. stunningly beautiful... Directors Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud provide a truly immersive experience... Having spent seven years working on 'Oceans,' including four years gathering footage, they've created countless how'd-they-get-that? shots.

Undeniably beautiful from start to finish. The cinematography and the lengths taken to record such remarkable footage deserve endless praise. But like other DisneyNature films the overwrought narration brings it down. David Attenborough has been narrating BBC nature docs since forever to universal acclaim, and he's the best because he isn't overly sentimental or spouting cod(oceans, geddit?)-philosophy. If DisneyNature could adopt his style to match their amazing footage they'd be onto a winner.

Its visual splendor more than makes up for its intellectual poverty.

Beautiful shots and I loved those sea lions lying on the beach in the warm sand, the sea otters cleaning their fur, the walrus mum and her child (OHMYGOD) and the footage with the person swimming with the white shark. It doesn't give much new information, and shows more the beauty of the oceans instead of how much we ruin it (does show it a bit). One big big fault though: the end credits. What a HUGE and disgusting fuck up

Minus points for Pierce Brosnan's hilariously overwrought narration, but plus points for everything else.

I fucking love oceans. There is some amazing funny fishes and animals of all kinds. These frenchies got some mind-blowing footage, not even Disneynature cut could ruin this movie for me. Well, that Joe Jonas singing was way too much, so no end titles for me. Next step for me is to get original cut of this film and watch it again. I expect it will make me even more ashamed of being human, but I can't choose ignorance.

Another astonishing documentary from DisneyNature. The directors offer a firm but understated reminder that three-quarters of the planet is water and the oceans should not be used as a garbage dump, a runoff for pollutants, and that endangered species are as important as commercial profits.

Anyone who says this film's message is over the top, excessive, or extreme is either ignorant or lieing. The planet is dieing, and we're the cause. Humans continue to be an Earth Cancer.

A documentary version of Avatar; beautiful, sometimes incredibly so, but with an over the top message. Get the DVD/BluRay, turn off the sound and play your own soundtrack.

This, unfortunately, joins the list of films that were so boring I fell asleep in the theatre watching them. Considering how beautiful the seas and its inhabitants are, why were there so many scenes devoted to horrid-looking crabs and fish that looked like that garbage person in Fraggle Rock? Under The Sea is the far superior aquatic documentary. Also, what the hell part of the movie is "thriller"?

Not as great as Earth or March of the penguins. But some scenes are really beautiful.
