A sweet little story, nicely acted by Borzage himself. His early Western shorts have a great way of lingering close in to dwell on character, which is a refreshing change of pace from his contemporaries.

It's not the miracle The Pilgrim is, but it's a wonderful and heartfelt little movie. Borzage's sense of life is infectious and these early westerns, along with William S. Hart's, are about as mature as the genre got until Ford hit his stride.
