What a napmare - although this highly discombobulating film actually works reasonably well as a horror film. The thing is, though, that it's supposed to be a comedy! Fascinatingly terrible.

What a mess! The cast has potential, the art direction shows great imagination... but it's not funny - it's merely tedious.

Not the complete abortion some people say it is, but it's far from a great film. Worth watching at least once for the surreal, almost Burtonesque set designs. It fails as a comedy, however, being mostly predictable humor underset by awkard social situations with crazy people.

Dan Ackroyd's directorial debut is a very clear example of what his other more well known pictures may have looked like without the neutral, guiding visions of John Landis or Ivan Reitman at the helm, and although "Nothing But Trouble" is closer to "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" or "Eraserhead' in its sheer horrific insanity, it's also wildly inventive, endlessly bizarre, and one heck of a ride from start to finish. Unforgettable in its weirdness, even if the final product is deftly uneven.

I don't know what to say. It's like those Scooby Doos with the ridiculous cameos collided with Texas Chainsaw. I could never imagine who this was for, but good on Ackroyd for staying true to his very unique vision.

This has given me more nightmares than almost any serious horror movie. I don't know if that's a point in it's favor or not. Fuck you Dan Aykroyd.

Liking the movie requires you to believe that a spineless yuppie played by Chevy Chase of all people is worthy of your attention. And that he deserves a woman like Demi Moore. Ugh.

I remembered really liking this as a kid, and giving it a 7 on IMDb back in 2005. Rewatching it was rough. I adore The Addams Family so a film about a weird family living in a giant mansion with traps and secret passages should be perfect for me, right? There's even a model train! Yeah, the only reason this doesn't get a 1 is because of the set design. The characters, acting, story, etc. are obnoxious, unlikeable, awful. Don't do this to yourself.

What a bizarre oddity of 90's film history. So many elements of a potentially good film, such a loaded cast. But the whole thing is just 90 minutes of unmitigated mayhem with absolutely no restraint whatsoever. And not really in a good way. Occasionally, but mostly not. A disasterpiece in just about every sense of that term.

There is something truly audacious about this film. It almost deliberately shoves your face in it's awfulness. Nothing But Trouble, by sheer force of nightmarish will, manages to become some bizarre, perverted art piece but it never becomes, not for a single second, a good film.

Aykroyd's directorial debut was a career killing bomb that squandered 40 million dollars on an elaborate prank of a film that's merely an excuse for him to goof off in the role of a grotesque judge with a nose tip shaped like a penis. Yes, that's right. To his credit, he is entertaining, but the film never takes flight, despite its promising SNL meets Texas Chainsaw premise. The plotting seems arbitrary, and the talented cast fail to improvise its way around the poor material.

NOTHING BUT TROUBLE is a psychotronic fever dream shot straight out of Dan Aykroyd's id. Repellant and riveting in equal measure, it's certainly not the most cohesive experience, but it cultivates a perverse thrill in watching to see what the hell is going to happen next. And I haven't even mentioned the Digital Underground cameo...

More painful to watch than it is funny or frightening, Nothing But Trouble recycles its ineffective gags from other, better films such as Beetlejuice and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, all while feeling like a precursor to Scary Movie.

The creators of this film succeeded in making sure Dan Akroyd's fake nose resembled a penis, and pretty much failed hard at everything else. I saw this movie once as a kid, and that faraway viewing still perturbs me like few films have. Worse than terrible.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. What happened to Dan Aykroyd? (Or, more accurately, what happened to the people who used to look over his shoulder and tell him when something was a terrible idea?)

I saw this as a kid and it leaved a strong impression, but I could not remember the name, then someone at Criticker told me the name :D. It is supposed to be bad, but not that many movies ca give the kind of feelings this movie gives you and for me that is enough to make it good, a mixture between horror, funny and goofy movie. An incredible humorous cast that has Demi who is beautiful but her acting is horrible and finally a Tupac appearance in a werid rap scene from a wonderfully bizarre movie

I'd never heard of this before but for what it is it's a surprisingly decent watch. Very of its era (low budget, obvious jokes, cop out ending, all a bit..random) but lighthearted and fast moving enough to hold your interest. The better gags are used up early on and I would've preferred to see more of Candy in his speaking role than silent and in drag but there you go.

A weird film that jumps between horror-suspense and comedy. It has it's moments, such as the Mr. Bonestripper ride. However, the makeup on Dan Ackroyd's Judge Alvin character is so bad that it detracts from the film.

A surrealist masterpiece from the people behind SNL and SCTV. It has a weird tone that some people mistake as either incompetence or hubris or runaway nonsense, but if you think of it as a long nightmare sequence then the pieces fall into place.

Almost certainly the worst movie ever made. I don't know what is more amazing, the fact that Demi Moore's career improved after this movie, the fact that this monstrosity was greenlighted or that one movie could single handedly destroy the careers of three of the funniest men of the 1980s.

Whether a viewer can enjoy this movie is based entirely on two things. They must really like the cast and each of their styles of humor, and they must be able to withstand a constant onslaught of puns. It's very unique but very quirky and a often quite crude. Meh!
