Incredibly dumb! It just gets exhausting. Early days of sound, you know. They'd not yet worked out the timing on how to make a comedy work properly for the big screen. Doesn't matter if you are a comedy queen like Marion Davies. Most curious about this one might be that it's just about the only notable role writer Donald Ogden Stewart did as an actor. Here he does some eccentric comedy bits. Also comedy regular Franklin Pangborn had his moments. But otherwise this was quirky.
