Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer

Starts out engagingly and Gere is well-cast, but winds up a fluffy character study attempting to tackle a complex political plot, and ultimately collapses under the burden.

Interesting. It's strong suit is the ending.

Original, funny and moving, with good performances (Oren Moverman has found the perfect typecast for Gere in "Time Out of Mind" and here as producer, Gainsbourg shines and Buscemi is surprisingly convincing as a Rabbi) and that boldly creative stylistic flair that also permeated Cedar's "Footnote". I didn't entirely buy the politician character, though, and there was something a little crude about the ending. Still a very good movie.
