This is one is difficult to label: it’s not a Giallo even though it starts with a brutal murder, and it's not a proper poliziotteschi either. I’d say it’s a rare Italian thriller in the style of Hitchcock. Salerno's direction is competent, Cucciolla is good as the professor and Cerusico as the lead who is unable to report the murder and becomes the prime suspect. I just thought that his decisions were either too stupid or unbelievable that they ended up hurting the film. Solid score by Ortolani.
