A modern Western inspired by the real-life "no man's land" areas along the Texas-Mexico border. While out on a father-son border patrol, Jackson kills a Mexican immigrant boy. When Jackson's father tries taking the blame, Jackson flees south on horseback, becoming a gringo "illegal alien" in Mexico. Chased by Texas Rangers and Mexican federales, Jackson journeys across Mexico to seek forgiveness from the dead boy's father only to fall in love with the land he was taught to hate.

The thing that holds it back is that it meanders way too much. By the end of it I thought I really adored this but as I thought about it more I realized that it was the strength of the truly good scenes that made me forget that a bunch of it was a little tedious. The ending is great; predictable but deserving and emotional. The acting is solid all around and if you love glory shots of wilderness or have a passion for the Western, both are exemplified here respectfully and competently

Current day border western. Pretty boring, but its got likable old faces like Andie MacDowell & George Lopez in key roles and considering the crap I've been watching the past few days, it was just nice to watch something that wasn't just a unintentional parody.
