No Man of God

Luke Kirby gave a terrifyingly convincing Bundy. The deep sea dweller scene was an interesting glimpse into something more interesting the movie could’ve been. Bundy (wether he actually said or if it was just movie dialogue) wasn’t necessarily wrong saying that we all are capable of being monsters. Most of us resist the urge. But what would we do if we knew with absolute certainty we wouldn’t be caught? Too bad the movie was resisting its own urges.

The movie is exactly what I expected, nothing more, nothing less. Actually there was something more - weird old school footage of unrelated things, as well as real footage from around the prison during Bundy's stay. I understand they were showing it to break the dialogues and give the movie some movement, but they felt out of place and unnecessary.

While Luke Kirby plays an excellent Ted Bundy and delivers a nuanced, bone-chilling performance, the whole movie plays out as an epilogue to a series of events that is so distant and historical that the context and tension are lacking. No Man of God could have been the definitive Ted Bundy movie, but it merely aspires to join the ranks of "one of many Ted Bundy" movies.

Right up my alley. Low budget high acting exposé. Kirby playing Bundy was excellent. Worth checking out if you want to learn more about what happened between him and Hagmeier in their sessions. Did drag a little in some areas, but overall well worthy of your time. 7.1
