Generic plot concentrates on naval band member who thus is not considered "real" fighting naval person. Parts are in officer country which is where Toshiro Mifune is placed. Confusingly appears to be movie made in 1969 sharing some of the same names, about the same period and subject, also with Mifune. Some nice onshore cinematigraphy.
