Nightmares

I thought all the shorts had value though none were great. The best thing about this movie is the casting of Alien's Veronica Cartwright playing The Thing's Richard Masur's wife. Now there's a couple that would have some entertaining bickering. "I wish I'd never left deep space!" "Well, I wish I was back in Antartica!" "I hope a Zenomorph bursts out of your chest!" "I don't have to test your blood to know you're a monster!"

If anybody wants to see, there's a Bishop of Battle kill screen coming up.

There seems to have been a small wave of horror anthologies released in the early 80's. A lesser movie than Creepshow or Twilight Zone on every aspect, it's more dorky fun (especially evil arcade segment with Emilio) than it is scary. I would pick giant rat story as my favorite out of four, the one about escaped mental patient being he most generic and forgettable.

I liked the video game sequence.

It does occasionally titillate, enough to keep your interest, but with a dated delivery, you won't lose any sleep over Nightmares.
