Don't worry, filmmakers, I'll go ahead and be embarrassed on your behalf.

Imagine taking a comic-horror novel about mutated rabbits but then dropping the humour. That's what this is. As a bunny dad I can prove 100% that there is no way to make bunbuns scary. When they yawn, that's as close as it gets. In its defense I actually think everybody really tried to make something good here. There were some pretty good shots, it was mostly competent, but the premise is so flawed it can't work as a straight horror. Points for the cuties everywhere. LOOK AT THOSE FACES!

"Mutant-killer-bunnies, hiding-in-a-gold-mine, scooping-up-the-ranchers, and-biting'em-til-they're-dead." Although the premise sounds adorable, I mean terrifying, this 70's "When Nature Attacks"/"monster" movie was sadly more of a boring slog than anything else. The few scenes of cute, I mean horrifying, rabbits covered in strawberry jam hopping alongside miniature sets, however isn't quite enough to really recommend sitting through the entire "hare-raising" oddity.

Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor, not a bunnie with ketchup on its mouth!

As a denizen of the desert southwest, I am somewhat concerned that the absurd premise of this movie will detract from the very real threat of jackalopes in the region.

I only watched this because of that background TV in The Matrix, which is not a good enough reason.

Been trying to find this one for years. Most critics feel it's one of the worst movies ever made, but as cheesy as it is, I kind of enjoyed it. Try making a movie about giant killer rabbits! Plus, it had several stars of the day.

...Wow. I'm sure at the time they thought the clips of real rabbits would be cute and funny and the scenes with the "giant" rabbits would be terrifyingly off-putting. Could things have turned out more opposite?

A horror movie as terrifying as a parade of bunnies frolicking over miniature sets in slow motion. The dramatic disconnect between rabbit closeups and bloody, dead humans is so misguided it gives you whiplash. So it's funny as hell.

Watching this in a theater full of stoned college kids actually made this movie more enjoyable.
Actually I could probably say that about a lot of movies

Night of the Lepus has to be seen to be believed, but don't take that as a recommendation. The humans are shown far too frequently to make this film worthwhile, and all of the characters made the film too cumbersome to be worthwhile. The bunnies were cute, though, and seeing them roam around miniature sets and lick ketchup from their face is cute and made me laugh quite often, but these scenes are not worth sitting through watching all of these annoying people do nothing of importance.

Essentially Them with giant killer rabbits. And they actually do try. The special effects (mostly rabbits running in slow-mo through miniature sets) are awful and the plot barely hangs together, but they really do try to milk the concept. "Attention! Attention! Ladies and gentlemen, attention! There is a herd of killer rabbits headed this way and we desperately need your help!"

Having giant rabbits run amok in a movie is a nice variation on aliens, and if you film them in hordes among 3-foot high houses or (rail)roads made to scale, you get some nice shots.
But for the rest it is a 13-a-dozen horror movie. And you should not show it to your kids if they're fond of bunnies.
