Finally mustered the willpower to endure another Packard film, in which you can again vicariously experience one of the most neurotic personalities in the movie business. This is arguably more accessible than other longer or feature-length films which is saying next to nothing, because they all tend to be demanding. If I had to recommend a fourth title for Fatal Pulse/Night Pulse/Yuppie Fear Thriller, it would be "Sampling"... and not just because there's a scene featuring two characters screaming the word at one another after discussing the musical history of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby," but also because much of it FEELS sampled - with trailers for '90s movies forming the basis of scenes' dialogue, and real pop culture, Hollywood and political figures appearing as twisted versions of themselves.
