This has faded from my memory somewhat, so it probably wasn't great. I can see the importance of an uncritical behind-the-scenes look at conspiracy theorists. They're not completely off-guard but by not antagonizing them, it humanizes them and puts them into proportion. However, the difficult psychological questions about these people, the social pathology of conspiracy-theorizing, and the objective challenges it poses to rational public conduct, are left untouched.

Just so that this is clear, this is not a movie like "Zeitgeist," "Loose Change," or Jone's own "Endgame." New World Order is not focused on those ridiculous conspiracy theories, but on the very angry and somewhat sad conspiracy theorists themselves. It's a very fair, penetrating, marvelously crafted investigation and I came out with a lot more understanding of this peculiar movement.

This is a documentary about conspiracy theorists more than the conspiracies they actually believe in. It does provide an exclusive peak into a really untouched and unknown world. I was amazed at what dedication these people have and it is inspiring how hard they are willing to fight for what they believe. The best part is they do this in a peaceful and informative way rather the ladder of fundamentalist nuts who spread their message through hate and war.

(Viewed on 06/15): In light of Trump's presidency and his ringing endorsement of conspiracy figurehead Alex Jones, who features heavily in this documentary, N.W.O takes on an entirely different meaning that was surely unintended. Its refusal to impose a reductive narrative frame onto its subjects (i.e conspiracy theorists) is admirable, but the film makers are too soft on them, leaving a gaping critical hole that requires filling, especially given the blatant anti-social tendencies on display.
