New Fist of Fury

Sequel to Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury, painfully long drawn, sloppy and sometime plan sleepy, other times just uncritical copy/paste from the first one. To see Nora Miao's character return after seeing Fist Of Fury so many time was very delightful.

That I liked this more than the consensus probably has to do a bit with expectations. I haven't seen Fist of Fury in a long time, so I wasn't constantly comparing it or Jackie to Bruce. Also knowing it was an early Jackie Chan movie I knew not to expect the comedy and big stunts his later movies are famous for. Still that not alone explains why I liked. What lifted this up for me is a good and well-paced plots and good characters, above all Sing Chen as the main Japanese baddie.

Takes a while to get going, but a few decent fights and a relatively solid cast make it worth a look for genre fans. And yes, that ending, totally brütal.
