Never Forever

At 1 point it seems like this indie may b going 4 a metaphor on the exploitation of minorities, but no, nothing that high-minded. At its core this is an overheated romance where we're asked 2 care 4 characters who behave in extreme & unpredictable ways, but we're given no satisfying understanding as 2 why. Farmiga, a good actress, is mostly cowed by her husband's family throughout & an immigrant falls in love: neither 4 any discernible reason. A character study w/out the study.

The plot didn't make sense for me so a lot of the drama seemed forced. Why did she have to pay so much? Why did they have feelings and argue after like the 3rd session? Why did they fall in love when she was doing all this for her husband? How did they have the whitest hapa? I even felt the nudity was unnecessary. Fav scene: they hear a siren outside (why?), then the police officer teleports up the stairs and fuck your constitutional rights, with a dash of white woman yelling "you have no right"
