Nerawareta otoko

Shot in an unrecognisable lo-rise Tokyo, this film, like the city, has been greatly affected by time's passing. still the tropes of the stoic plodding but clever detective, the "obvious" killer and the loyal woman (or women) are well enough done that it remains watchable - a somewhat different ending does a lot to keep it fresh. Just don't examine the plot too closely.
