I am a left leaning atheist and I can put politics and religion aside to enjoy a psychologically unnerving and well written slow burn thriller. The conclusion left we wanting, though.

Over-the-top combined with wooden acting in this lame and boring psych thriller wannabe. They created a poster that suggests some Exorcist style movie but that's all, there's only the poster. Don't waste your time.

Someone said it was Christian propaganda but dang I wasn’t expecting all that. It was actually quite amusing, at times it had me chuckling due to predictability. Very much like other pro-Christian anti-abortion type films. The prisoner Edward was a great actor, compelling. I was rooting for him lol. The psychiatrist James was naive and predictable, reminded me of Joel Osteen. Despite being obvious Christian propaganda (assisted suicide, abortion) it is still a really well-written story.

Appreciated this film for its originality and execution albeit some questionable ethics.

It was more interesting in premise than execution, unfortunately. Sean Patrick Flanery was good when acting as Nefarious, but it was a bit over the top as Edward. Not sure why it's classified as horror, or rated R.

Better performed than other far right Christian movies, but more, ironically, nefarious, given that it is trying to masquerade as a horror movie. The Edward bits are a bit hammy, the protagonist has the consistent Hallmark clean look of most propganda movies, and of course it takes time to insert an anti-abortion message. The actual message of the movie is as incoherent as the far right creators. Any balance this movie has was orchestrated by propagandists to not be too off-putting.

A very well done movie. No jumpscares, no weird scenes. Nothing much ever happens, really. It's just two men talking but oh boy, was it scary! Goes on to show how important acting and writing are. It portrays a demonic possession and demons themselves accurately, of course, in the sense of Christianity. It was sad at times. There was good humour too. I was sweating at the end. It was a hard movie to watch but a perfect one too. It has bad reviews because of triggered feminists.

It is hard to hate this film: it is a strikingly powerful conversation about theology that does not get boring, which in itself is a monumental achievement. Had it stopped there, I would have found one of the best films I have seen; however, then the propaganda came in. It is not as stupid as the Leftist propaganda which is all mind-zapping guilt, but anti-abortion and anti-euthnasia tropes scare this Gen Xer away. Too bad because this is a well-made, tightly plotted movie.

Most of these possession horrors are tinged with Christian sermoning, but this one is full-on religious-conservative propaganda, according to which euthanasia and abortion are evil and capital punishment an inevitability. The shit dialogue (all of it is dialogue) and hammy acting (which includes an apt cameo by Glenn Beck) don't help. As one review put it, "fails as horror and as a laughably-loaded discourse on religion".
