Ned Kelly

Watched this probably around 20 years ago and still remember a few bits and pieces which means it was at least decent. The story with the homemade armor was interesting and probably quite realistic for country boys putting whatever they could find together. Jagger is not the greatest actor and his accent was comical (for the role), nevertheless filmed well with good countryside views.

Offbeat, rugged production is hampered by Jagger's spectacularly awkward and unconvincing lead performance, and a muddled screenplay which can't seem to bring any focus as far as what it wants to say about its lead character, and the times he lives through. Still waiting for the iconic Kelly film!

Watchable mainly for the iconic Jagger, this is a strange and self-conscious film with little to say for itself in terms of plot. Special interest only.
