Pen-Ek Ratanaruang without any sense of humor or a more developed plot is basically an inferior Weerasethakul. I'm all for a talented director stepping out of his comfort zone, but this just isn't working.

An interesting failure, I wanted to like this more than I did. Although the photography, pacing and sound is good, it was lacking the sense of mystery needed to pull this off. And the acting failed to convey the motives of the characters sufficiently, although perhaps this was lost in translation.
