Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose

Truely a bizarre film, based on a bizarrely true story. Most of the film is spent watching Pegg do a Christoph Waltz impression. Driver is great, and it's always nice to see Lloyd pop up onscreen. It's a film where the plot and tone sometimes feel at odds with each other. It's a film about personal belief and scepticism, set against an oddball hoax on a lonely island. It's never really funny, and when it tries to get dramatic it overshoots into comedy. It's an interesting, strange mess.

Don't know how to take this ridiculous story. It's more funny because it actually happened than what this film had on display. If they'd made it into a nutjob comedy instead of taking it half-seriously, then it might have been something I'd love.
