Nadie Sabe Que Estoy Aquí

The quiet visual storytelling is done with the utmost artistry and intentionality as gorgeous cinematography, subtly powerful symbolism, and striking cuts slowly but steadily drive the narrative and keep it consistently compelling (the solid, understated turns by all fit in perfectly). A tad more exposition would've given the rising tension in the third act a little more edge though; as it was, it was a bit muddled. The musical climax, meanwhile, lacked the "wow" factor it was banking on.

Naturalist vignettes share space with subtle symbolism in a largely wordless, beautifully shot character drama. Unique editing and structure enhances performance and cinematography, but ultimately the film is too sparse for great impact, its culmination affecting but underwhelming.

God damn it, Hurley's back on the island again...

Whenever it tries to be kind of bold, it just gets worse -- that vomiting scene lol. Too bad it can't help but rapidly embrace miserabilism when the opportunity shows. I really like Garcia's performance, though.

Cool song, too bad about the trauma. :(
