Stepbrothers Raju (Mammootty) & Babu (Mohanlal) grew up as thick pals at a boarding school away from Raju's dad Vishwanathan (Madhu) & Babu's mother Sumathi (Srividya), who cohabited. Their family business, a financing company, was run by Vishwanathan & was a thorn in the side of their business rival Thampi (K.P. Ummer).
