My Teacher's Wife

My Teacher's Wife wasn't your normal "high school kid bangs an unlikely person" story. The writing was good. The acting was better than it should have been. I'm sure this movie would have been more impactful if i had watched it at the time but even in 2016 it was a good high school comedy. Jason London is very likable. Tia Carrere isn't just the hot tutor but her character is unjustifiably lovable. Christopher McDonald plays such a good asshole that you can't help but root for the kid.

No real build up, no development, and not that much to it, other than a few sexy scenes and a good confrontation.

A hot for teacher story that has more than one ingredient for success but doesn't get the mixture quite right. Perfect example: There's a cute exchange between Jason London and Zak Orth (who is the bright star of this film) as Zak is acting as goalie for gym class. Witty banter that started to make me think maybe there was actually something to the movie, and then it immediately went into the most tired cliched montage of Zak failing as a goalie and all those points were lost. Still alright.
