The obvious tension and dislike between West and Fields is far more entertaining than anything that happens in this movie.

Mae West is annoying as usual, smirking and swanking around, "ooh"-oozing one-liners that she thinks are wonderful. This kinda works as a call-girl in 'She Done Him Wrong', but here out west shooting injuns, nope. Just nope. W.C. Fields is fun, though. West has no chemistry with him, but then she never has chemistry with anyone but herself.

This being my first exposure to Mae West I have to ask, did she always act like a Mae West impersonator? It's like the other actors aren't even in the same room. Her voice seems piped in, and all her lines come across like private jokes. W.C. Fields is funnier, but he's still mild compared to his headlining films.

I'm not really fond of Mae West. I don't find her schtick to be particularly funny, and she kind of drones on with a monotone delivery. Not quite my tempo. I am extremely fond of W.C. Fields. Comedy westerns are really not my thing. I don't really like the results of cramming these two into the same movie, especially when it's a western. There are a few scenes of Fields on his own that I liked, but for the most part, I would rather have been watching a different Fields flick.

Could've been a smash if its humor wasn't dated as hell. Like jfc

Mae West is a one-note character, and WC Fields mumbles along in his usual way, but if you like their (occasionally) zippy one-liners, here's some eighty minutes of that. For me, it fell into the "so-stupid-it's-funny" category; it's even funnier now that I've learned the two stars despised each other, each wanting to outshine the other.

2 screen legends in a throwaway movie doing what they do best, just throwing funny one liners.

The plot in My Little Chickadee (1940) is simple. Send W.C. Fields & Mae West out west and give them as much screen time as possible to do what they do best. And that works for me! One liners deluxe!

It's pretty much the same as other Mae West films. It's cute, amusing, a little bit racist and mostly entertaining. West just plays the same character yet again, though she got to be a bit more badass in this one. I thought W.C. Fields was fun. And seeing the Wicked Witch of the West herself, Margaret Hamilton was cool.
