Slack technique, disaffected snark, and naked desperation combine to produce some original and interesting effects. Warhol's films constitute an encyclopedia of voyeurism, more comprehensive than even Hitchcock's, and naturally less diluted, often not at all. This seems to both simplify and complicate things, in these movies that seem simultaneously like the artiest and most artless things you've ever seen. This one is really funny throughout the first half, but interest drops off a bit.
