It's a pity that director Valerii didn't do more Gialli as this is one of the good ones. It's quite heavy on plot and dialogue which may be a reason why it doesn't get as much attention as some other films. For once, the it's actually rather plausible - at least for the genre. There's not that many kills, but the rare ones are very effective like the power saw scene. The film also has a heavy decadent atmosphere. Morricone's score is OK, but nothing too memorable.
