A lot of compellingly weird relationship dynamics. Mara’s character is so pushy and confident, and Page never questions it, just passively accepts her attention. And I loved the two character-swapped scenes of “I don’t belong here” awkwardness. None of it is remotely believable but I found it entertaining (and the acting sells it)

Top badass moment? The Death Penalty; how’s that working out for you America? I can hear the writer’s brain whirring now: “I’m gonna make two people with less than zero in common fall in love and I’m gonna make them gay so it's even more improbable, for the ultimate mismatch romance.” And personally I'll be winning the lottery next week, as that’s more likely. Luckily he gets two people that can really act and manage to make it all seem terribly plausible. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.
