My Brother the Devil

Loved the dialogue, the acting and the realism of this. A pretty good slice of contemporary London life. The story was a bit more contrived but I guess that's not such a big crime.

The two brothers have a great presence, and the cinematography is incredible. The choice to cast actual gang members in a lot of the roles was probably a good one.

By trying to put one too many themes they missed them all.

This familial drama dares to take some interesting routes but several of its disparate themes just never seem to organically cohere. Characters also suffer from perfunctory characterizations.
