I never saw the 3D version of this but the 2D DVD version instead and I can assure you that the only thing this movie has going for it would be the 3D because damn is it a bad movie. Unless you're a horror fan there's nothing for you here. It's full of absurd plots, bad acting, mediocre production values and over-the-top kills. I think that describes the movie perfectly and you should be able to tell if you'll enjoy the movie or not.

Certainly not a good movie, but miles ahead of the garbage that passes for horror remakes a lot of the time. A fun way to pass 2 hours, which is enough for me with horror movies.

Watchable in a dumb fun kind of way, just an endless succession of pickaxes to the heads of half the people in this sleepy little town. Dumbass ending. A super-long full frontal nude scene from Betsy Rue; she must have spent days in a row on set in her altogether, singlehandedly boosts my score a little.

Really, really fun time at the movies. Not scary at all, but a really great rollercoaster ride and date movie. Frankly, that's all it sets out to be and does a hell of a job at doing so. Plus the appearances of Tom Atkins and Kevin Tighe from Road House made me grin from ear to ear.

I'm just going to say it like this: My Bloody Valentine 3D is in 3D. That's really all you need to know. Really though, practically from the minute the film starts you'll realize just what a treat you're in store for. Not only is this great as a dumb horror movie, as it has good kills, lots of funny lines, and a relatively interesting story, but the 3D gimmick works in its favor greatly making some of the scenes more entertaining than just about any movie out there.

Of course, you always have to be susceptible to, and in the mood for, these sort of grisly slashers, but this is a better than decent one; uses its 3D gimmick effectively and imaginatively and moves at a fast enough clip to forget about pondering the absurdities of the premise and screenplay (“We’ve got Valentine’s Day and we got… mines. Mash ‘em up!”) Well performed under the circumstances, with stalwart Atkins fun to have around as the elder statesman; overall better than it has a right to be.

Underrated, grisly flick. True grindhouse, and if you're gonna do 3-D, there better goddamn well be tits and fire axes flying at the camera, and this film does both.

I saw it in 3D and that didn't help much. This film uses a very simple formula - take a script of old genre classic, use all cliches you can think of, add 3D gimmick, and pray for good profit. Middle-aged worn-out naked ladies running and screaming isn't really my cup of tea. No thrills this valentine's day.

The movie is nothing special, but I will say that the 3D (gimmicky though it truly was) elevated the experience greatly. And, I will admit that it kept me guessing about the killer's identity, which shames me a little

Making it a 3D experience only makes a steaming pile of crap jump out at you sporadically. There's a lot of decapitations - every death is exploited beyond belief - but there's not one scary moment here. It's meant to be humorous I guess, and provide a splatter-fest for horror fans, but this isn't 'Freddy vs. Jason' where I felt like I was in on the joke. The storyline, the characters, dialogue and seen-it-before ending sucked. I know there's an intended audience for this, but I'm not it.

The 2-D version basically throws it in your face that this movie was meant for 3-D. It is not a bad movie overall some with some gore and a serviceable horror movie plot. It is paper thin but a good movie to riff on with your friends while watching the events unfold.

It has a few clever moments, including well-placed callbacks to the original and a few new twists that add a little something to the plot, but beyond those small victories it fails to be anything special. Fine performances from a cast who are trying to make it work are muddled by a messy script and cheesy 3D effects, and the intrigue of the final twist is brought down by a ridiculous last-minute second twist that has no business existing. Overall, it's decent for what it is, but little more.

I had a good time with the original, but this remake was pretty joyless. It changed enough things so that it wasn't a carbon copy, but didn't do much better. There were some dumb twists. The shameless 3D shots were very obnoxious, as they often are. The kills were ok, but again, designed for 3D, and there was too much CGI. The acting wasn't very impressive overall, and I'd say Jensen Ackles sucked. Yeah, I didn't like it.

I was hoping for a bloody good time, but this Valentine had some stale chocolates in it. It was strange seeing Jensen Ackles outside of the show Supernatural. He did a pretty decent job. I wouldn't say any of the acting threw me off in this film, it was more about the writing. A lot of the violence didn't make much sense and although the look of the killer was pretty cool (A scary guy in mining equipment) it just didn't have the scary feel of like a Jason or Michael Meyers...

Pretty standard slasher that stands out for having very good 3d and cool gore. Acting was worse than normal for this type of movie. Also characters behaved worse than normal...standing and staring when shooting the gun in their hand would have been the more realistic behavior

The twist is each week the loser of the phone poll has to be eaten alivee by the other contestants The ball's in your court dudes, you know my number.

Sometimes the 3-D is "okay"; sometime it's spot-on. Either way, My Bloody Valentine is a pretty fun ride. Yes, it's gory, and you'll discover there's many different ways to bludgeon and impale a head with a pick-axe. But, that's all a part of the genre, and you know it going in to it. With so many lame entries in the horror genre, at least this one has a bit of heart. . ., and a halfway descent storyline.

The 3D is so effective and the colors and camera shots are crisp and life-like. The setting is perfect and very reminiscent of the town from the original. The acting is decent from all involved and the script and dialogue are not bad either. My Bloody Valentine delivers exactly what your looking for if you see this movie: plenty of gore in the tradition of 70s/80s slasher pics. The gore effects are brought to us in glorious 3D, which makes it all that more great.

GRADING ON A CURVE since it's tough 2 complain after choosing 2 sit through a modern teen horror flick. They're targeted 2 teens 4 a reason: they don't need much-a few scares & "hot" "actors". This does little more than fulfill those requirments. Some thought was put into makng the most of 3D & crafting effective scares, but little else. It's all weakened by 1/2 dimensional characters, "actors" whose looks distract from playing anything other than actors & a serious lack of fun or wit.

I wish my glasses would add some dimensions to this poorly cliched plot. The 3D novelty wore off for me after the initial major killing scene (there's only so many ways you can kill someone with a pickaxe), and the whole "mystery" of who the killer is is literally thrown in your face within the first 15-20 minutes of the movie. It doesn't help that I was surrounded by high school chicks in the theater who went "omg AHH" at every single scene. But I guess that's who this movie was made for.

This release is huge in a sense. When I say huge, I mean the fact that a horror movie gets shown in 3D in the 21st century is an impressive feat. I never would have guessed it would have happened. And they chose to remake a early 80s gory slasher flick. I normally despise remakes, but this one isn't that bad, I would say is on par with the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. The 3D, or REAL-D aspect makes this thing fucking amazing. Has a decent plot and I hope there is another REAL-D film

I was luckily invited to the premiere of this. With a huge bowl of popcorn and dished out with new 3-D shades, My Bloody Valentine is a blast. It feels like your right in the middle of what's going on, and it's the most fun I've had in theaters in a long time. The glasses have been modified, which looks a lot cooler than the original red-blue combination. With unlimited buckets of blood, nice cheer-worthy screams, many upsetting moments and a gas-mask wielder, this is a hoot. Go ahead, kill me.
