My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3

One thing I will give these Greek Wedding sequels credit for is that they bring back nearly the entire still living cast with each installment, something a ton of revival and reboot series and films can't seem to get right. (Cobra Kai and the Netflix Gilmore Girls revival also do a good job with this.) Outside of that... it's a more or less cute but totally disposable sequence of Greek vacation family sitcom vignettes; hard to hate, hard to love. Hard to summon any deep emotion about.

This isn't made for me & I know this kind of inoffensive & predictable story appeals to many women (as shown by the popularity of Hallmark Xmas movies - which is where this kind of thing belongs), so I was ready to give it a 75, but they go Woke & throw in what seems to be a non-binary character (who they never actually call that - they're so scared to offend) & utterly fail to explain why the Greek mainlanders abruptly accept a foreign immigrant except as a "lesson" to viewers, so blow me.

Not as bad as the second movie, but it doesn't have enough of the charm from the original to spread around at the same time. Strictly for the fans.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" attempts to recapture the magic of the original but falls flat in nearly every aspect. The absence of beloved characters like Gus and Maria is deeply felt, and the disjointed plot lacks a compelling reason to invest in the story. It relies on tired jokes and fails to evolve. This uninspired sequel lacks a clear purpose and ultimately disappoints. It's time to retire the series and let it rest in the past. Nia Vardalos should explore new creative avenues.

A nice background story, badly told. The direction job was bad, but I was amazed from the clear photography at the harsh Greek summer sun and the great scenography of the movie. Overall it was a below average movie, but for some "weird" reason, I really enjoy it.
