You've got to love the high-concept here, but I wish the people making the movie had displayed a bit more love for it, too. You're there to see the "television demonstration" and maybe a bit of Bela Legosi, and you get those—flatly packaged into a wooden budget mystery that goes as they generally do: lots of generic people stiffly standing around talk, talk, talking. Occasional wipe transition, "peeking in from the next room", or TV notwithstanding, I felt like I'd sat through a dull radio play.

I enjoy Bela Lugosi's acting, and he is the best part of this murder-mystery.

Nonsensical trash. Bela Lugosi does what he can with his roles but there's no saving this mess.

From the days television was sci-fi. Can you believe that they thought TV was going to be the next big thing. How wrong were they! Oh, wait.... Television rules us now. Strange that the idea of "Murder by Television" didn't scare people off the TV idea. Not really. This movie wouldn't even scare radio. Totally dead atmosphere. No acting at all. Just people saying their lines. Sad to see Bela Lugosi being wasted like this. He must have really needed the money to make a cameo for Cameo Pictures.

Completely lifeless. Lugosi fell fast.
