Muhomatsu no issho

This version from 1943 feels incomplete and roughly edited since it's missing 18 minutes of footage that were cut (and never found) due to censorship. Watch tt0051955 instead, which is almost the exact same movie (and by the same director) but not censored.

There were some great shots and fun moments but neither the film nor the characters resonated with me in any way and I found several parts dull so I had a hard time staying focused.

I found it a odd movie, but I appreciated it. Playful. Not going to claim they handled the story to perfection, but it was fun and quirky experience.
