Having seen both the silent 1919 version and the first sound version from 1934 of this play, I found that this adaptation of Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch (1942) the best of the bunch. It's a story which doesn't really general much steam, and the same is true with the '42 version, but there were more sentimental bits i liked.
