Billy Bob Thorton fits his role very well and honestly the flashback scenes of him tormenting children were pretty funny, if you find such terrible things funny. However besides him and Amy Poehler, who's hilarious, the movie is terribly bland. Seann William Scott simply doesn't do it for me as he plays essentially the same role over and over. Give this one a miss, unless you're one of those who think Scott is the greatest comedic actor ever.

I have a great sense of my own taste in films and tend to stave off ones I suspect will not be good. This was one of those films. But the boyfriend wanted to see it, and I live there so watched it by default. Yep, right again. ALTHOUGH this could have been good had they taken it to a darker place instead of a comedy. But they didn't so it sucked.

This movie seriously blows. It's hard to scrape off a chuckle from this thing. Thorton, while talented at this particular character, has no surprise left in him. Scott has never seen worse days as an actor- he's terrible here- and well Sarandon, she collects a paycheck. This is apparently the kind of work that really pays off after an Oscar win. Everything here screams studio trash, it's definitely not worth anyone's time or money.

Thorton fits his role well but Sean William Scott is one of the worst comedic stars in Hollywood today. Other than Stifler, Scott is a one-trick pony.

I think everyone involved, both cast and crew, was just bored and agreed to do this to have something to do. Its a clever idea, and i wont say there couldn't have been something to it both comedic and emotional, but the film is just written lukewarm and doesnt reach past very typical moments.

This is a horrible movie. Scene after scene this move just keeps getting worse. What a horrible script. A complete waste of time of all the actors involved.

As much of a jerk as Woodcock is, S.W. Scott manages to make him seem like the lesser of two evils by being completely unlikeable and totally unfunny. The film as a whole is forgettable.

I laughed my ass off at Woodcock's early attempts to toughen up the kids in his class, its a shame teachers can't be more like that these days. Oh then the movie continued and became shit.

BB Thornton's character is great, he is like the guy nobody ever want to meet but everybody would need at some point in life, the movie isnt really worth watching, as the story is lame and everything else nothing special

Thorton acts well, he fits the role, but there's nothing special about him. The film is neither funny, nor interesting. I laughted only twice at the very end. It could have been good comedy, but it sucks instead.

This is probably the most decidedly mediocre film I've ever watched. It has moments that are funny, sure. But it prefers to stick to a subtle and reserved approach that ensures a lot of wasted potential. It's definitely enjoyable, but it's not going to be a movie you'll remember in a few years.
