Mr. Roosevelt

I really did want to like this film more. The script is so light and breezy, and follows the familiar beats of the indie dramedy genre. I never felt like I understood what was going on in Wells' head, as she just aimlessly drifted from one scene to another.

someone remarked at the International Pop Underground in 91 that beat happening had a lot to answer for with how indie music was going. Thought about during this and thinking of Lena Dunham. I'm a sucker for this stuff and I did for the most part enjoy it but even I was just a little worn out of characters that refuse to grow up in the fakest ways. There's no authenticity in any of it. Female comedians, you really shouldn't feel like you HAVE to make your version of Frances Ha or Tiny Furniture just because you can. I'm just saying.

Quirky

Terrific writing/aciing. Fun film. I can't identify much with any of it however. I just don't connect with these characters or what goes on in the film. Maybe it's because I am from an older generation or maybe it's becauese I had a pretty serious dull life overall? I do like this overgrown pixie toddler but I she's not like anyone I know.
