The only thing saving this mess from a zero is a cute pre-"Alias" Jennifer Garner in the most '90s clothes ever.

A one joke cartoon extended into a feature length film. What could possibly go wrong? A generous rating based on this viewer's affection for Nielsen, who is funny at times but cannot overcome the weakness of the writing or Tong's clumsy direction.

Look, I love Nielsen and the talent he has at laying down a deadpan yet ridiculous delivery. That being said, when you base a movie off an already terrible cartoon, this is what you get. You get Mr. Magoo. Are you happy?

I love Leslie Nielsen, but you just can't make a movie based entirely on slapstick and clumsy idiocy.

It's hard to make a feature length film out of a collection of seven minute cartoons. This movie is proof. The heavily redundant style of comedy gets old after about, oh, seven minutes. Utter crapulence!

It’s interesting to observe that Nielsen’s comedy career rose and fell in tandem with Peter Sellers’ – both near-genius when playing the ostensible straight man as buffoon, but their declining films forgot that they are lost at sea when wearing silly hats while deliberately prat-falling. It’s certainly a more interesting idea than anything going on in this tired, pitiful effort; only Nielsen’s inherent likability wrings some mild chuckles from an otherwise stale, noisy and overstated screenplay.

The chicken scene was hilarious. Other than that I had a few laughs but on the overal this is quite unwatchable.

Only watched it for Leslie Nielsen. The movie doesn't even come close to matching the cartoon that inspired it.

Once upon a time, Stanley Tong - director of such films as Police Story 3 came to the USA to direct his first Hollywood picture. Featuring Lesley Nielsen, it was destined to be a hit. But it wasn't. It bombed horribly and Tong went back to China. What went so wrong? Mr. Magoo was always annoying. The constant narration of what he though was going on was always irritating, his jokes and one-liners grated, getting more annoying as they went on. An entire feature length film of that was unbearabl

Nice comedy film. Mr Magoo's problem is that he's blind as a bat and keeps mistaking the hat stand for his secretary. Leslie Nielsen makes a stab at him, before being hijacked by the scriptwriters and hurled into a B-picture thriller spoof. He manages the voice, but the visual impairement is hit or miss, mainly miss.

Leslie Nielsen's likability factor accounts for all the points I'm giving this. This is no 2001: A Space Travesty (which manages to transcend all possibility and suck all the likability out of him and everybody around him); hell, you could even say this does a pretty good job of trying to make a decent movie out of a pretty terrible cartoon. Wasn't worth the effort, though.

Leslie Neilsen is always likeable, but they shouldve left Magoo to the cartoons which are funnier than this in every way possible.

This should have been a Zero, but I love Leslie Neilsen. I watched for about 30 minutes before I had to kill it. Spy Hard and Dracula: Dead and Loving It are Citizen Kane compared to this piece of ****.

I normally love Leslie Neilsen's work, but he's totally miscast here. The look of Mr Magoo was based on Jim Backus who provided the voice of the original cartoon
