A dull statistician changes his life after winning a pile of money after successfully determining the number of beans in a barrel. He decides to do something novel with the prize and ends up buying a barrel factory. He encounters trouble when the nearby pickle factory is threatened by a shyster attempting to close it.

One of the better Grand National productions of 1938. They collect a bunch of known faces for a decent little story well suited for Stuart Erwin dry naive persona, as dull statistics man entering business hoping to create a barrel boom. Don't get more exiting then that, does it?! Well, it is a little dull for a comedy, but there is nothing bad about it. Just a well meaning comedy that's not meant to bring the major laughs. You just smile at the hopeless one.
