Does well to expand itself beyond the titular antics (which are undoubtedly hilarious-see the mouse on the cheese wheel, bathtub ride): Ernie and Lars have great chemistry and banter in between the slapstick moments and the other straight-laced elements (firing, falling out, failing factory, financial woes) give a real sense of stakes. Would've been cool if the quirky Coen brothers-esque edge was strengthened though, even if just by ending it at the auction disaster and before the cheese.

I evaluate it as a kid movie, and so I'm being more forgiving. Lots of fascinating details, mechanical things, and mouse scenes for a kid, the sets and props are visually great, some fun cartoonish characters too. Might be harder for an adult to tolerate all of the screaming and sliming however.

A nice little family/kids film! Actually has some funny parts, and the brothers find some pretty unique ways to try and take out a single mouse. A great cast too!

Is it top tier cinema? No. But it doesn't have to be. It's an adorable mouse causing two brothers to go to slapstick insanity with some charming acting along the way. Shades of Three Stooges, Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes.

Mouse Hunt is a very cerebral film. At first you are led to believe it is the humans who are hunting the mouse, but slowly you begin to realize the mouse is the hunter and the humans his prey.

Live Action Ratatouille before Pixar made the animated version. Jokes aside this is a warm, humoric family movie. But thats all. Otherwise its obvious, its silly and its simple. Good old childhood

The tale of how two men confront their existence in a cruel and unjust universe, with their inability to control their own fates personified as they are made to do the bidding of a hyper-intelligent mouse (brought to you with shitty CGI). Good for a few laughs.

For some reason this film stood out in my mind as more good than bad, but I cant say why. Maybe the charms of Nathan Lane and Christopher Walken hijacked my brain, but whatever, it was enjoyable. That said, it has been a long time since I've seen it and I highly doubt it aged well.

Delightful little children's film. It's still enjoyable now that I'm all grown up, though I don't love it the way I did when I was 10 years old. It's basically a cartoon come to life, and as such it occasionally goes way over-the-top, but that's part of the charm. The cast is what really sells the movie, however. Lane, Evans and especially Walken are all excellent in their roles.

A pre-Ratatouille ode to the superiority of rodent culinary expertise, and the hapless, socially-dilapidated manchildren who realize it. More or less. It's actually quite a good film, with great tone, effects, and acting.

This gag-filled faux-caper is a lot of fun kids, and it's not so tasteless that parents should frown upon it like most kid flicks today. Christopher Walken gives a powerful and delightful performance as well. Meh!

A discouraging, depressing, calculated movie that fails to make its audience even crack a smile, much less laugh. And I could do without the poop joke especially. I give this a seven only because of the good cast that labours in the service of this sad loony-tunes wannabe.
