Mother Carey's Chickens

A sweet family movie about a struggling family and their growing children. The girls are played by adorable Anne Shirley & Ruby Keeler, and they are put to good use as they discover men and try and help their sick mama make ends meet. It would have been a lot more cuter had it not been for the little boy. Donnie Dunagan was just annoying. Impossible to make out what he says as he always messes up his lines. Plus he looked weird. Otherwise it's the most goodhearted of goodhearted films.
