Mortuary

Builds to probably the least shocking killer reveal in slasher history. The killer made a mask of his own faceThe main guy in this looks like Fred from ScoobyDoo and drives a giant mystery machine. The deaths are all exactly the same but stick around for yabbos. Sometimes it is fine when these movies don’t make any sense but sometimes its bill paxton fucking his mom's wedding dress in a tire factory totally ignoring the initial thrust of a seance cult plot it’s just hard to keep up sometimes

This does a lot of small things really well regarding suspenseful buildups. The characters however manage to ruin all of it with inane responses that may not have initially been written for humans. Bill Paxton is babyfaced and weird as ever. Not a waste as a watch but definitely wasted potential. Doesn't hold up against Mausoleum.

Spontaneous disco music during conversations of death also makes me giggle and dance.

This movie wasted Bill Paxton. It was pretty bad.

Bill Paxton is great here, but he's also the most obvious horror movie villain of all time from the second he's introduced. So that's a bit of an issue. The Georges are a lot of fun, as per usual, & the rest of the cast does a decent enough job, but the script is a horribly written cluster with two underdeveloped heroes & dangling loose threads that don't really go anywhere. On top of that, the ending...sucks. It just sucks. It's worth a look for genre addicts (which I am) but isn't too special.

I like the way this story turns out. As usual Bill Paxton is a lot of fun!
