Quite bad. The plot is about as cliche as it gets, but I can forgive that if a film is well executed. Unfortunately, the acting, Keaton's and Ford's most notably, is poor, and character development is non-existent. Though funny in a few spots, most jokes fall flat. Perhaps this film, and Pomeroy's character, are just metaphors for Ford's dying acting career. It's more like a pilot for a sitcom that was canceled after one season than a feature film. Avoid this movie.

Like its protagonist, Morning Glory has a lot of good ideas and drive but tends to fumble whenever it "accidentally" goes on the right track for too long. In neither case is it ever particularly amusing or endearing. I did laugh a lot, and the cast is great. But it's not enough.

What bugs me is that it's such a wasted opportunity. Could have been something great or at least decent given the terrific ensemble cast who did the best they could to elevate the material. The premise brims with possibilities for witty laughs and incisive insights but unfortunately, it is undercut at every turn by the frivolous, overly emotional approach.

The predictability and mushiness sort of go with the territory. Here, though, great acting elevate average material. McAdams carries the film beautifully. Wilson's character is almost too nice but it's a role he plays very well. The rest of the cast are made up of legends, doing what they do best (grumpy Ford, scenery-chewing Goldblum and bitchy Keaton).

This kind of movie has a natural loft to how interesting and innovative they can be, but making McAdams the lead actually makes this one pretty good. She is charming, stunning and really makes me want the best for her character in her struggle pursuing her life long dream. She alone makes this movie. Heck, she IS this movie, but still pretty awesome to also collect Ford, Keane, Wilson and Goldblum as well. All help as Morning Glory raises the bar for acting in this genre.

Is it wrong 2 dislike a film just b/c the main character is yet another Adorably Neurotic Striver semi-romanced by a Strangely-Available Mr. Perfect? Surely it pains Katherine Heigel to have missed out on this 1. Harrison Ford gets 1 laugh playing himself, Grump-Who-Refuses-2-Play- Along & serves 2 highlight the film's only interesting feature: its cheery fait accompli take on the de facto murder of Serious News at the Hands of Fluff. It's all bubbly & competent - like a can of RC Cola.

Morning Glory wants to approach the universe of morning talk shows with the sense of passion and importance that some might reserve for international politics or healthcare. Instead, McAdams (who deserves better) plays a character devoted to the point of fanaticism in saving an awful talk program by apparently talking 50 Cent into doing a live duet version of "Candy Shop" with the increasingly manic Diane Keaton.

You have a movie with McAdams, Keaton, Ford, Goldblum, Wilson and Burrell and all you get are two or three very good laughs, Goldblum delivering a great line and McAdams' fabulous ass. On the negative side you have to endure a predictable plot, McAdams annoying role, Ford looking like an alcoholic in need of booze and tons of wasted talents. This should have been much much better!

Much better than expected, it's more of a lighthearted office politics film than a romantic comedy and, while the plotting is pretty mundane and predictable, I have to give it credit for great characterizations. McAdams as the lead is especially great, but everyone seems to rise above the material to make an interesting and enjoyable movie.

Tried to be Devil Wears Prada, except the girl is not young or naïve enough to get the viewer on her side. First third of the movie was boredom central, luckily it picked up later on. Not many decent jokes, and the romantic subplot with Mr forgettable actor was barely worth including. Pretty horrible dialogues and characters, with an uplifting ending to try to save the day. Rachel McAdams can carry a movie but I wished she hadn't bothered with this one. Ah, I liked the soundtrack though, sue me.

There is a reason audiences didn't flock to see this one in theaters. It's so slight and mild and almost entirely missable, but that's too bad because Rachel McAdams is a raving spark here, proving she is leagues ahead of the dire Katherine Heigl. 'Morning Glory' is a funny and lighthearted comedy that may not utilize Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford to their potential, but it does give McAdams a role to run with and win our hearts---and she does so, keeping this movie afloat in the process.

Ford and Keaton played unlikeably flat characters (I'm usually a big fan of both of them) The end was undeservingly emotional (though I could tell the director REALLY wanted me to feel something). It was moderately entertaining, though, so there's that.

The film felt both long and short. It felt long in that it just dragged on and on forever without anything truly interesting happening. But when it ended it didn't feel like it had gone through the neccessary number of plot points to close a film. I do not recommend it.

Like her character, Rachael McAdams, although pretty, lacks talent and tries too hard. Harrison Ford tries too, but with a third-rate director like Mitchell, who overuses montage and countless bumptious songs on the sound track to cover up the boring patches in the script and his own lack of imagination, the film goes nowhere.

I guess someone wanted to redicule H. Ford. His role almost resembles himself, having starred in good films and now he had to do this mainstream commericial rubbish. R. McAdams is on good way to become new K. Heigl. Oh and by the way, this movie sucks.

Morning Glory is a fluff piece that suffers from bad pacing. The film is light-hearted, inoffensive and moderately funny, so it's unfortunate that it drags throughout its runtime. McAdams is charming and keeps you watching, while Ford, Keaton, Goldblum and Wilson all bring familiarity and likability to their roles. The plot is decent, if not a little simple throwing exactly what you'd expect with no surprises. Ultimately, it's forgettable fluff.

What an awkward, goofy and way too cutesy romantic comedy. It just reeks of factory produced schlock that is completely inoffensive and competely without depth or message. At least Harrison Ford does a perfect job as a sour old man, an attitude I truly adopted towards this movie too.

An impossibly beautiful, intelligent, spunky, passionate, dedicated, funny, talented and quirky young woman moves to the big city and wins everyone over by being so impossibly beautiful, intelligent, spunky, passionate, dedicated, funny, talented and quirky. It had rom-com visuals, a swamped soundtrack, and a script that just couldn't decide whose story to tell. It was miserable film-making by numbers - a ghastly attempt to turn the excellent The Devil Wears Prada into a film formula.

This movie gets extra points for its excellent casting. Everyone played their parts so well. McAdams was a great control freak, Keaton was born to play the part of a news anchor, Ford was an excellent over-qualified journalist and everyone else just played their parts very well. The one thing I could have gone without would be the love story with Patrick Wilson but hey something had to be left in for the chicks watching this. Great humor, lots of laughs and fluffiness.

Morning Glory is ultimately a success. It is funny, sharp, and smart, and contains a couple of really solid performances from Rachel McAdams and Harrison Ford. It falls when it attempts to balance the personal and professional life of McAdam's character, and also when it uses copious amounts of rom-com clichés, but it's enjoyable enough to overcome these flaws overall, largely thanks to just how likable McAdams is in the lead role.

Charming, delightful comedy. Echoes of BROADCAST NEWS abound, but film can stand on its own; McAdams is life force of the film, in a bubbly, energetic performance, balanced nicely by Ford's curmudgeon; Keaton and Goldblum both hilarious in support. Michell directs the film snappily, and has a very good eye for the little details sneaking in at the edge of scenes. All combine for one of the most delightful comedies of recent years, perhaps marred slightly by forced romantic subplot with Wilson.

Bad: Harrison Ford overacts. Diane Keaton too. Story too predictable. Good: Rachel McAdams is bright, energetic, likable, and cute. Soundtrack is surprisingly well-executed. The premise and cast are promising, however, aside from a few funny lines and of course Jeff Goldblum, who's a sight to behold whenever he appears, this is an overlong, largely humorless clichéfest, from the conventional structure to the tacky musical choices. The biggest weakness is probably the clumsy rotation of unappealing, underdeveloped, exaggerated characters. Also, I didn't know that cooking a frittata gives you carte blanche to behave like an unhinged toxic asshole. The more you learn.

This isn't much, but it was a bit of a pleasant surprise. I thought they could have had more fun with the morning zoo antics. The McAdams romance is pretty uninspired, though she is great as always. The more interesting relationship in this romantic comedy is the platonic seduction of Harrison Ford by McAdams, as she tries to win him over and get him to accept his new role. Ford is at peak grumpy here, which he plays well. Enjoyable.

With Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton involved, I did expect rather more from this. Shallow, predictable writing, and god, is Rachel McAdams annoying. I have never been so happy to see Jeff Goldblum show up--his laconic character is a welcome respite from McAdams' verbal diarrhea. Ford sounds like he's imitating Clint Eastwood the whole time... I have a real soft spot for Rachel McAdams who remains perky, sweet, playful and beautiful throughout this role that places her at odds with the ridiculous curmudgeon character played by Harrison Ford. Diane Keaton was also enjoyable. The story was sometimes clever, and mostly interesting, but Ford's character really brings it down. He shows an uncharacteristic lack of emotional depth in this.
