As the end of the Second World War approaches and the Soviet Red Army is advancing, a group of concentration camp inmates is helped to escape by a Polish doctor. Much of this prison camp escape takes place in hiding, and becomes for the most part a positive tale of life in a secret camp. Sure, danger does come their way in the way of Nazis looking for them, so you get a little of that too, but it was more the collection of unique personalities and destinies that makes Morituri (1948) a rewarding one. That, along with it being Klaus Kinski's movie debut! And yeah, the brief time he was on screen, he was crazy here too!
