Moomins on the Riviera

Stylistically maybe closer to source material than the 90's TV series, but it's not the stuff I grew up with. It's not trying to be and it doesn't need to be. But it's like eating grandma's pie with a renewed recipe. It's just not the same. It's for the new generation and people who didn't grow up with Tales from Moonvalley.

The story is not much and the English voice actors really didn't fit at all but it has enough of the mood and art style of the Moomins to make it enjoyable and cute and pretty sweet. Nothing special but it's nice

I thought this was an OK animation. The script was barely serviceable and the film perhaps more aimed at adults, but the french aesthetic and the jazzy score kept me entertained for 80 mins. It's not on Pixar or Ghibli -level of course, but I've seen worse.

You know that feeling you get when you find yourself in a cinema watching some god awful Finnish kids tv programme? And you realise you've hit rock bottom & you go home and you cry and you hope to die?
