Miyamoto Musashi

Miyamoto Musashi estreava há 60 anos no Japão. Sei que deveria já ter lido o catatau do Yoshikawa que está na minha estante há tempos antes de me aventurar em outra adaptação para cinema, mas não resisti ao aniversário, mas acho que deveria ter lido antes porque toa a trajetória dele antes de se tornar Musashi não me parece tão importante na tela, assim como teve pouco espaço na versão do Inagaki com Mifune, aqui me parece ter colocado tempo demais nisso. Kinnosuke Nakamura does well in the role but he is no Mifune. Mifune played the role as a savage beast, Nakamura on the other hand played it as a petulant child. The best part of this adaptation versus the Samurai trilogy of films I'm more familiar with was the fact that these films are allowed to breathe with their longer runtimes and increased number of films.
