Miss You Already

I can't put my finger on it. I really wanted to like this. I can relate to many of the emotions and it definitely holds some excellent moments, but they are overshadowed by my feelings of wanting it to end sooner rather than later. *Okay

I'm on the fence about this one. I thought the writing was good, the performances were good but it still have a movie-of-the-week flavor. A bit too soapish perhaps.

Toni Collette never shy's away from a difficult role. Here she gives a very good performance. Drew Barrymore is also good. A sometimes sweet story of friendship and hardship that is worth watching but also a bit heart wrenching.

Surprisingly good, for a movie that shows the story of someone who is going to die. Not so sure about Barrymore for this role, but Collete was fantastic. I got emotional a time or two, because I was drawn into the story. And that is always a good thing to happen when you watch a movie. 60/100.

There are many things to like in this and honestly, I thought I'd lose it whilst watching it but I didn't, which is the biggest indication that it didn't quite do the trick. Performances were great and I think it did show how an individual could react in the situation but perhaps they over did it, or the dynamics were slightly off, but didn't really enjoy it.

Decent weeper but I found nothing that really stood out in this film. Still, all in all, worth a watch.

Well, it really shouldn't have such an annoying and abrasive central character -- of course, by being english she loves rock and is ironic as the devil -- with cancer so we can hate her and then feel sorry for her and for us. Despite being ultra self-indulgent and badly shot -- oh those "subjective" shit --, the duo truly elevates the material with some charisma. Too bad Catherine shows nothing but an arc that we already know how it's gonna end -- she must hurt the people who love her and so on.

We get to watch Drew Barrymore watch her best friend die of cancer for an hour and a half. The title Miss You Already (2015) kinda gives the ending away. So yeah, "happy" movie. A effective tear manipulator for sure.... if one is in the mood for that. Toni Collette was a good choice for the role as the gradually dead girl, looking like a sick skeleton and being the upper-class rebel that can get away with anything. I got suckered into the story and enjoyed it for what it was.

I like Drew Barrymore.
