Note to film-makers: if you're going to make a biopic, please try to pick an interesting subject. Beatrix Potter may have been a fabulously successful author, with her stories still being loved by children a century later, but the rest of her life seemed to be rather mundane. She fell in love, she had some heartbreak. That's not enough to fill a 90 minute film. Some of the Lake District shots were nice, but mostly it's just dull.

This is a beautiful movie. It's a touching and beautiful story and brilliantly made. Of course, the sad moments deter me from watching it over and over, but it proves how wonderful the movie is that I would want to watch it again anyway.:)

Sweet and genteel adaptation of material already a little too sweet and genteel – there’s nothing terribly offensive here, with Zellweger and McGregor recapturing their easy chemistry together, and surrounding elements providing what at times feels like a softer BRIDGET JONES/PRIDE & PREJUDICE redo, but it’s ultimately too bland and square to ever become genuinely involving. Shout out to an as always wonderful Watson, who brings the sparkiest, most compelling character in the film.

Zellweger is *not* Potter. Could have been Blanchett, Swinton, Rooney Mara or any number of other women, but they went completely basic. But the whole film is basic, down to the logotype of the title, emphasizing the single word "potter" - large, chunky and yellow - as was tediously in vogue at the time. Such a waste of budget and beautiful life story. How long till we get a redo, by someone with comparable wit & pathos like Wes Anderson? How did a film like this get so cynically produced?

Zellweger (idealist yazar) ve McGregor (şapşal Norman), Aşka Veda'dan sonra tekrar bir aradalar. Rolleriyle özdeşleşmişler, performansları başarılı. Barbara Flynn'in canlandırdığı anne karakteri sinir bozucu. E. Watson kız kardeş rolünde şirin. N. Westlake imzalı müzikleri masalsı havaya çok yakıştırdım. Oscar'a yetişme uğruna hızlıca tamamlanan filmin maalesef sadece Emmy adaylığı mevcut, Streep 'Miranda' ile eski kızını yenmiş. Süresi ideal.

"Miss Potter" is a fairly good love story. It also gave some (if only fiction) insight into some of the most classic children's stories of all time. Renee Zellweger shines as the headstrong yet whimsical Miss Potter. Ewan McGregor and the rest of the cast are equally as good. Even the slight hints of fantasy and flashbacks are fairly well done. It is overall a pretty well made movie that is worth watching.

"Zellweger's face has utterly frozen into a human version of a scrunchie, and appears as if it will shatter into 1,000 pieces if an honest smile were to break out." - Jason Clark

Sweet (maybe too sweet for some) movie about the author of Peter the Rabbit. McGregor is the best one in it. You have to be a little sentimental if you will have any hope of liking this.

Al right movie, thank god they kept it short. Becoming Jane Austen was a much better movie. Zellweger's acting is at par. Not movie that I would recommend as a must watch.

Indubitably a chick flick. Guys should avoid this one. And even so, this film is trying to be Jane Austin and does not quite succeed. Emma it is not, but it's not bad.

A painful exercise in watching Renee Zelwegger channel the totem pole school of acting. One ugly face on top of another

It's not bad, by any stretch of imagination. The problem is, it's not all that good either. You're constantly waiting for something enchanting to happen. But it never does. And don't come here looking for sense making. This movie just ends, just when you thought it might be going somewhere. Unfortunate.
